This forum is for any comments, questions, observations, or objections you may have about either the Taught By God website or about the Christian faith.

I am always keen to improve the website in whatever way I can, so if anyone has any constructive criticism or positive suggestions regarding improvement, I'm all ears (or 'all eyes' I should say, I suppose, since I'll be seeing your comments rather than hearing them!)

There is much about Christianity that has not been covered in any of these articles, so this is the place to have your tuppence-worth on issues that you think need to be talked about.

If you are an adherent of another religion, I'm very happy to hear your views, but please remember that the purpose of this platform is to promote Christianity rather than any other belief system or world view, so I would ask you to respect that boundary.

Happy posting!

Most of the website's content will be in this section, because I am basically a teacher. Not by profession, I hasten to add, but by gifting. Most of my working life was spent in I.T., so I enjoy working with software, but in regard to Christian ministry, what I do best is teach.

The apostle Paul exhorts his protege Timothy to: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).

It's one thing to read the Bible, but another thing entirely to come to an understanding of what God is attempting to convey through it, but this is what being taught by God is all about. God speaks through His written word, but we must have ears that hear and hearts that are open to revelation and understanding. There is no shortcut to this. Paul tells Timothy that he must be a workman, not a spectator.

I trust that the studies that I include on this site will prove to be helpful and beneficial to everyone who takes the trouble to read them and make use of them, and I would very much value your feedback.

Hopefully we can be taught by God together.

Some people don't like the word 'apologetics' because they think it sounds as if we're 'apologising for' what we believe, as if we're saying, "I'm sorry to have to confess it, but this is what I believe".

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Apologetics is about explaining what we believe and why we believe it to those who don't agree with us, in the hope that they will at least come to an understanding of our position, and at best come to the point of agreement, where they can say, "Yes, I get it!"

The difference between preaching and apologetics is that preaching addresses the heart whereas apologetics addresses the mind. Both are necessary, and each has its place and its audience.

I suspect that in the culture in which we live, most of those who are unbelievers are to be found somewhere along the agnostic/atheist spectrum. For that reason, most of the articles in this section are written with that audience in mind.

I would be interested to see what sort of response I get to these articles, so if you have any comments or questions, please chip in.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important message that any human being will ever hear.

I have seen many books where the blurb at the back tells me that reading this book will change my life. Well, none of them did. However, when I heard and actually began to UNDERSTAND the Gospel and took the simple baby step of BELIEVING it, my life was changed forever.

I have tried to explain the Gospel in terms that are accessible to a 21st Century English-speaking audience. Whether I have succeeded or not, only my readers are able to judge. Any constructive suggestions for improvement will be gratefully received.

Please let me know what you think.

Better still, if my endeavour has succeeded in persuading you to believe and begin to follow Jesus, then let me know so that I can rejoice with you.

As far as I am aware, the Bible is still the best selling and most popular book in the world. To billions of people, it is the Word of God, the Word of Truth, the Bread of Life.

In the liberal democracies, Christian households probably have many copies of the Bible in different translations, and maybe even different languages. However, in other countries there may be a single Bible in an entire village, or no Bibles at all, because they are banned by the government. For these people, owning a Bible, or even being able to borrow one, is a dream that may never come true.

Those of us who do have access to this life-changing book need to appreciate and value what we have, and do what we can to help those who have no such access. Organisations such as Bible Society, Open Doors, and Back to Jerusalem do what they can to provide and distribute the Bible.

Please support them.
